Lafayette Education Foundation (LEF) names new Executive Director.

Etienna Wright has been named as the organization’s new Executive Director. Wright has served LEF as Programs Director for nearly four years, overseeing the organization’s annual Teacher Awards program as well as LEF’s Classroom and School Impact Grants program.

“The Executive Committee voted to hire Etienna Wright as the new Executive Director of LEF based on her history with the organization, her grasp of the organization's mission, and her passion in implementing that mission,” said LEF Board President, Elizabeth Hesterly. “We have full confidence in her ability and appreciate the tremendous work she has done as Programs Director for almost four years.”

A native of Abbeville, Wright has served the Acadiana community through her work in the non-profit sector for ten years, previously as administrative assistant with Hospice of Acadiana Foundation and development director with the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra and Conservatory of Music. Additionally, Wright serves as associate director for the Acadiana Repertory Theatre and is on the board of directors of Theatre 810.

“I believe that my history with LEF makes me uniquely qualified to serve the organization as Executive Director,” stated Wright. “The familiarity that I have with the day-to-day operations of LEF is one key aspect of this belief, but the most vital is the passion I hold for education and the mission of LEF. I am honored to work alongside LEF’s board and Lafayette’s education community to help the organization grow and flourish as we continue to fulfill our mission.”
