Come one, come all to the Acadiana Bird Club Inc.’s 2018 Spring Bird Fair! The Acadiana Bird Club, a non-profit organization, will be holding it’s bi-yearly fair in the Lafayette Event Center, 4607 Johnston Street, on April 7 and 8. On Saturday, the fair is to start at 9 am until 5 pm. On Sunday, the hours are from 10 am until 4 pm.

In attendance there will be vendors selling an array of birds; Love birds, Macaws, African Greys, Cockatiels, Amazons, Parakeets and more. Exotic birds will also be available for sell and show. Birds can range from $5 to a few thousand dollars a pop. Along with birds, vendors in attendance will be selling bird toys, cages, feed and other supplies needed for your feathery friends.

Harley, an African Grey parrot, will be at the fair to say “hello” and “goodbye” to those that see him. He can flap his wings on command and can sing a song. Harley is also known to ask a few lucky passersby to “come here” or “pet head.”

During the fair, the Acadiana Bird Club will be hosting a raffle and will be selling concessions. Proceeds from confessions and admissions will go towards charities and avian research. Admissions is $4 and children six and under get in for free.
