Volunteers of America to Host ‘Sweet’ Fundraising Event

 Join the fun and help raise money for a great cause at Sweet Indulgence benefiting Volunteers Attendees will enjoy a great evening and have the opportunity to vote on the most delectable dessert; the owner of the winning dish will receive a plaque, as well as bragging rights as having the sweetest treat in the area.   of America - Acadiana Programs, as some of Acadiana’s finest restaurants, bakeries, caterers and bars come together for an evening of treats, local artists and auctions to benefit residents in need of social services.

Set for 6 p.m. April 4 at the Petroleum Club of Lafayette, the event will also feature nationally acclaimed pianist Ben McGehee. The evening will also feature a silent auction of gift packages.

Volunteers of America serves more than 10,000 clients nationally to help them achieve independence and maximize their quality of life. Its clients include the homeless, at-risk children, the mentally ill and the elderly. The organization offers housing options, treatment for mental illness or co-occurring disorders and referrals to services. 

The organization’s Acadiana branch serves Lafayette, Acadia, St. Landry, Iberia, St. Martin, Evangeline and Vermilion parishes.
