The Bad Seed

The Bad Seed, by Maxwell Anderson, based on the novel by William March takes place at Cité des Arts, in the Robert D. Sidman Theater, on January 12, 13, 14, 20, 21 at 7:30pm and January 15 & 22 @2:00pm. The January 12th show is a Premier Fundraiser Event for Stage Backers. It will include dinner, drinks and after-party. Ticket prices for this Premier Event are $40. All other performances are $20 (including tax). Rhoda Penmark seems to be the perfect little girl. But when a schoolmate is found murdered and only Rhoda can be linked to the crime, Christine must look into her own past to discover the truth about her daughter’s true nature. Based on the wildly popular book of the same name and later made into the infamous movie, The Bad Seed has been both a commercial and critical success for generations. Nominated for Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Cinematography, the film version is recognized by the American Film Institute as one of the top 100 most thrilling films in American cinema. Cité des Arts is a non-profit organization that was organized to support the artistic endeavors of other 501(c)(3) organizations including, but not limited to, educational organizations, religious organizations, performing arts organizations as determined by the Board of Directors. Cité des Arts began operation in 2001 and since that time has become Acadiana’s grass roots arts incubator, by supporting and hosting numerous theatre and dance groups, visual artist and French cultural programming.
