Mini Blues Fest #5

Celebrating International Blues Music Day

Acadiana Blues Society is hosting the Fifth Annual International Blues Music Day Celebration on August 12, 2017 at Route 92 in Youngsville, LA. Proceeds will benefit ‘Generation Blues Camp’ Scholarships which is an initiative that began in 2010 by the Blues Foundation. This scholarship program allows qualified applicants under the age of 21 to study their instrument of choice at reputable camps, seminars and workshop programs. As you are aware, we are losing our elder blues statesmen at a rapid pace and it is so vital to expose this genre of American Roots Music, originating in the Deep South, not only to a larger audience but to the younger generation. We will also have a 'Candy for Vets' Drive for the SW LA War Veterans' Home in Jennings. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Dinner and music at 7 p.m. Four local bands will provide entertainment, Michael Juan Nunez & the American Electric, The Good Dudes, ULL Ragin' Blues Band featuring Corey Ledet and Delta Mudd. Thanks to the generosity of our local businesses, several door prizes will be given away throughout the evening. $12-$15 at the door.
