The Historic Delta Grand Theatre is a multi-purpose arts center dedicated to building a stronger community through the arts. Through traditional arts programming, innovative arts education programs and artist development programs, we use the transformative power of the arts to affect change in our audience, our community and our region.

VALUES Our work is guided by three values:

COMMUNITY We strive to create arts experiences that bring our community together in ways that enrich us, educate us, embolden us and unite us. Our programming will strive to reflect all aspects of our community’s diversity. We will strive to build new communities of artists – both locally and regionally – and serve as a gathering place for the exchange of artistic ideas and resources. We strive to create programming that will reflect the unique history of St. Landry Parish and the singular culture of south Louisiana.

INVENTION We strive to create arts experiences that stretch the imagination of our audience and expand their notions of what the arts can be. We strive to create unique programming that offers experiences and opportunities no other local arts organization provides. We strive to give young people arts experiences that ignite their passion for art-making and inspire them to make the arts central to their daily lives.

TRANSFORMATION We strive to create arts experiences that embody the transformative power of the arts: giving people their first experiences with the arts, giving emerging artists opportunities to develop their talents, connecting our audiences with regional and national artists, telling transformative stories that explore our shared human experience and using our unique position in the community to affect change in our audience, our community and our region.
