Cultural Economy Initiative, CREATE, Hosts March Public Meeting

Mayor-President Joel Robideaux invites public to monthly stakeholder meeting for CREATE

As part of the ongoing efforts to build and support Lafayette’s authentic culture to further diversify and strengthen the local economy, Mayor-President Joel Robideaux invites the public to the monthly stakeholder meeting of the cultural economy initiative, known as CREATE (Culture, Recreation, Entertainment, Arts, Tourism and Economy). The meeting is part of a monthly series of public meetings designed to solicit citizen input and feedback on Lafayette’s cultural and recreational assets and potential. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 28 at 5:30 p.m. at Glide Studios, located at 315 Jefferson Street. Attendees are encouraged to stay after the meeting for a dance lesson to celebrate Acadiana Dance Month.

“Through CREATE, we can utilize meaningful citizen involvement to celebrate and build our cultural economy. These ongoing monthly meetings allow us to check-in with those in Lafayette Parish who are driving, supporting or celebrating our culture and recreation, and we recognize that we can be more successful with citizen guidance. This meeting will introduce people to Glide Studios as one of our cultural assets and also engages the public to find out what 2018 has in store for CREATE,” said Mayor-President Joel Robideaux.
