Quintessential New Orleans band George Porter, Jr. & Runnin' Pardners are a favorite in Cajun country for their fusion of rock, funk and R&B.

Best known as the bassist of highly influential funk band The Meters, George Porter, Jr. is one of the most prominent bass players in modern New Orleans music. During the course of a career spanning more then four decades, Porter has not only made a deep impression with his work in The Meters but has also notched session work with artists as diverse as Paul McCartney, Jimmy Buffett, David Byrne, Patti LaBelle, Tori Amos and more. Porter's long-term project the Runnin' Pardners is well-respected not only in New Orleans but also in the wider jam band and festival scene. Among the musicians in the group are guitarist Brint Anderson, keyboardist Michael Lemmler and rising stars saxophonist Khris Royal and drummer Terrence Houston.
