See Our Hearts
Child Abuse Prevention & Sexual Assault Awareness Month Kick Off event
The See Our Hearts event is the BIG kick off event for April, which is Nationally acclaimed as Child Abuse Prevention and Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Hearts of Hope and Junior League of Lafayette have teamed together to sponsor this event with the help of Lafayette City Police and Scott Police Department. Hearts of Hope, the local agency that works alongside law enforcement and Louisiana DCFS to combat cases and incidences of child sexual abuse, is dedicated to healing every heart affected by sexual abuse and serves the entire Acadiana area.
The entire community is invited to stop by on Thursday March 31, 2016 between 12pm and 5pm to gain access to resources, information and support they need to protect their family from sexual violence. The new teen project will be launched "Now Matters L8R", which aims to reduce the number of peer-to-peer sexual assault/abuse incidences as well as educate teenagers and parents about the dangers that stem from inappropriate social media and electronic device usage.
The See Our Hearts event will feature cookie decorating, face painting, teen media activities, door prizes and more! It will be held March 31, 2016, at the newly remodeled Main Library Branch in the downtown area of Lafayette from 12:00PM to 5:00PM. This is the week of spring break; bring all of the kids!
