Healing House celebrates 20 Years of Hope and Healing in Acadiana

Dr. Sarah Brabant and Betty Cooper: Healing House Founders

The Healing House; Hope for Grieving Children [formerly: The Grief Center of Southwest Louisiana], recently celebrated its 20th Anniversary at Esprit de Couer in Lafayette. Supporters of the highly successful non-profit agency were on hand for the special event which included a very special ceremony honoring the Healing House’s five founders:  Dr. Sarah Brabant, Ms. Betty Cooper, the late Mrs. Pat Andrus, the late Mrs. Roxan Goudeau, and the late Mrs. Ida Neezy.

Healing House; Hope for Grieving Children provides an atmosphere that allows children ages 4 to 18 experiencing the death of a parent or sibling to express their grief through interactive play, expressive art work and discussion groups with peers experiencing the same trauma.  All services provided by the Healing House are free of charge and run by volunteers.  For more information contact 337-234-0443 or visit them online at www.healing-house.org
