2018 Minority Health Awareness Summit

During this event, we will dive deep into the social determinants of health and how they specifically affect our community and infant mortality. We will also discuss perinatal health disparities and work closely in small groups to address those disparities. We have several phenomenal speakers including, Carmen Green, as our keynote speaker this year. Ms. Green is a CBPP State Policy Fellow focusing on health in Louisiana. Prior to joining Louisiana Budget Project in the fall of 2016, she was the Louisiana Program Director and National Training Director for the National Birth Equity Collaborative. The organization’s goal to decrease Black infant mortality allowed her to develop her knowledge of health disparities, race equity, health policy and social justice. We are also very fortunate to welcome speakers from Healthy Start Epic and the Office of Public Health.
