Southern Screen Film Festival Ready to Celebrate Film and the Art of Filmmaking in Lafayette Every November in Lafayette, Louisiana Southern Screen Film Festival presents four days of film screenings, panels, red carpet events, parties, and workshops. Southern Screen moves beyond the traditional film festival and works to open up the community to the widespread possibilities of storytelling. The festival offers a hands-on experience, where the creativity in filmmaking mixes with a landscape of the local Louisiana culture to inspire and ignite the local community and visiting filmmakers. Festival Passes can be pre-ordered online or purchased at any Southern Screen event. Your Festival Pass does exactly what it sounds like: It gets you onto every red carpet, viewing at every screening, learning at every workshop, and socializing at every party throughout the Festival. This pass is ideal and cost effective for anyone who wants to attend multiple events through out the weekend. Festival Passes can be picked up at Will Call the day of the event. All other tickets must be purchased at the door. Events are first come first serve so you will need to arrive early. There will be two lines, one for Festival Pass holders and one to buy a ticket. Festival Pass holders will be given priority seating, and the ticket line will open 10 minutes before the screening. Once the ticket line has been opened, there is no guarantee of admission with a Festival Pass. Get yours here: New this year, you can now upgrade your Festival Pass with a Booze Bracelet! It can only be purchased with a pass. It gets you Parish Brewery Canebrake and Titos Vodka throughout the Festival! While others are wishing they had a refreshing cocktail or coldbeer, you will be sipping pretty. (while supplies last, must be 21). Students can go to all daytime screenings, panels and workshops completely free with your Student ID. Student should pre-register online and a bracelet can be picked up at Will Call at any Southern Screen event. Please bring your Student ID when you pick up your pass. Reminder, students do NOT get in free to the Red Carpet Events. The Southern Screen Film Festival begins Thursday, November 19th at LITE with an opening night reception and premiere of the film, “Experimenter” at 6pm.
