Lauren Andrepont presents abstract work in Gallery R

Lauren Andrepont will showcase her abstract artwork on the 2nd Saturday ArtWalk at Gallery R in Downtown Lafayette on July 9, 2016. A 20-year-old college junior, Lauren Andrepont, has been passionate about art since her childhood. Her work is heavily influenced by nature and music and often times the final outcome is a surprise. “Majority of the time when I start a piece I don't know where it'll end up until I step back and see a finished piece. My favorite thing about art is two people can be admiring the same painting and feel two, entirely different emotions, and that is why I create,” says Lauren. She is a self-taught Baton Rouge artist and some of her work as even been turned into clothing designs. 2nd Saturday ArtWalk is a monthly event that invites the public to explore the Downtown Lafayette Cultural District as art galleries display works by local and regional artists. The event features galleries, museums, restaurants, and shops offering live music, food, drink, and art for purchase. The upcoming ArtWalk will take place on July 9, 2016, from 6PM to 9PM.
